Dasha To Have Vocal Cord Surgery Before Returning With New Album
Dasha is taking a temporary hiatus after announcing she will undergo surgery to remove nodules from her vocal cords.
The procedure is scheduled for October 22 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
The “Austin” singer, whose real name is Anna Dasha Novotny, said the damage came from relentless touring.
“It’s from the past two-and-a-half years of craziness that just hit me like a truck.”
Recovery requires two weeks of complete vocal rest, followed by rehabilitation.
Dasha still plans to attend the CMA Awards on November 18.
She is rushing to complete her new studio album before surgery, with release targeted for early 2027.
“I really think this album is going to be a tentpole for my career.”
